National Coordinator Luca della Bitta: "A prestigious recognition for our network." International President Mauro Migliorini: "A global signal: the slow model is the future of quality tourism."
Chiavenna – The Cittaslow Italian Network is preparing for a major national event. At the direct invitation of the Minister of Tourism, the coordination of the "Cities of Good Living" will be among the protagonists of the 3rd International Tourism Forum, scheduled in Milan on January 23rd and 24th.
Organized by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with ENIT, and focused this year on the strategic theme "Undertourism: The challenge of discovering Italy" (#meravigliagliopen), the event represents the ideal stage for Cittaslow. Here, the network will have the opportunity to present its model of sustainable and quality development to top State officials and key industry operators.
THE ROLE OF ASOLO AND BELLANO AND THE INTERNATIONAL VOICE The focal point of the participation will be the afternoon of Friday, January 23rd, around 5:00 PM, when the "great family" of Cittaslow will be represented by official interventions from the representatives of Asolo and Bellano. Recently awarded the prestigious international "Best Tourism Villages" title by UN Tourism, these two towns will share their excellence as concrete examples of how to respond to the challenge of "undertourism."
In this exceptional context, Mauro Migliorini, Deputy Mayor of Asolo and President of Cittaslow International, highlights the strategic value of this appointment:
"The presence of Asolo and Bellano on the stage of the International Tourism Forum is not only a source of pride for our communities but a victory for the entire international network I have the honor of chairing. Being called by the Ministry to an event dedicated to discovering authentic Italy means that the Cittaslow model is no longer a niche, but a reference point for national and global tourism policies. We will bring to Milan the voice of hundreds of towns that demonstrate every day how quality of life, sustainability, and local identity are the true keys to the tourism of the future."
THE WORDS OF COORDINATOR LUCA DELLA BITTA Luca della Bitta, Mayor of Chiavenna and Coordinator of the Cittaslow Italian Network, expressed great satisfaction with this involvement in the nation's highest tourism assembly:
"It is an honor for our network to be called to contribute to this important working table at the request of the Minister. The theme of the Forum, 'Undertourism', seems custom-made for our reality. The presence of our colleagues from Asolo and Bellano, supported by the international vision of President Migliorini, is a recognition of the teamwork of all of Cittaslow. It is an occasion to reiterate that slow tourism is a strategic resource for Italy."
INVITATION TO MAYORS The Forum also serves as a valuable moment for discussion and networking for local administrators. The program includes a convivial dinner on the evening of January 23rd and the conclusion of the proceedings on the morning of Saturday, January 24th. The Coordination invites all Mayors of the network to respond positively to the invitation received from the Ministry, to transform these days into an opportunity for meeting and to make the presence and unity of the Cittaslow movement felt strongly.
Viva Cittaslow!
