This past Sunday, May 10th, the Cittaslow municipality of Silly (Belgium) hosted a wonderful Local Producers' Market, transforming Mother's Day into a true celebration of community, quality food, and international cooperation.
Set in the town's beautifully inaugurated Halle de Toscane, the event perfectly embodied the Cittaslow philosophy. It was a day dedicated to conviviality, where citizens gathered to:
Discover high-quality, sustainable local products.
Meet passionate farmers, artisans, and producers.
Share a warm and lively atmosphere right in the heart of the community.
A Beautiful Cittaslow Synergy A major highlight of the market was the exceptional participation of a delegation from San Miniato Cittaslow (Italy), a fellow member of the Cittaslow network. The Italian producers brought authentic Tuscan flavors to Belgium, creating a beautiful cultural and gastronomic bridge between the two towns.
To top it all off, attendees were treated to an engaging live show-cooking event right at the market, filling the new square with incredible aromas and offering a memorable sensory experience for everyone present.
Congratulations to the Municipality of Silly and its administration for organizing such a successful event! It is a shining example of how the Cittaslow network fosters local excellence, supports slow food, and builds lasting bonds of friendship across borders. 🐌🌍
