The 5th Pyeongsari Rice-Fields Soccer Event in cttaslow Hadong, Korea

Cittaslow Hadong held the 5th Pyeongsari Rice-fields Soccer Event in Akyang-myeon on November 22nd(Sat.). The festival is a combination of sports a culture planned and supervised by the cooperative Nolluwa, designed as a sports festival that can be enjoyed by men and women of all ages without any regional, age or gender restrictions with soccer ball made of straw, in the rice field after the harvest season.
At the opening ceremony, the mayor of Hadong, Ha Seung chul and the coordinator of the Cittaslow Corea Network bon sohn gave congratulatory speeches, with all staffs of the Cittaslow Corea Network forming a team and joining the soccer festival. This year, a total of 40 teams including 30 general teams and 10 tourist-centered extra teams participated. In addition to operating local agricultural specialties such as Daebong Persimmon, green tea and kiwi, the festival also operated a variety of field-type experience programs such as paddy field bowling and rice straw experience.
Also, the fesitval was delightful due to the high participation of the local residents who prepared food court and Pungmul (Korean traditional folk music) performance of elementry school students. Taepyung Salt Farm, a member of the cittaslow friends sponsored earthenware toothpaste products to all the parcitipants this year as they did last year, too.
