As part of the "Slow Neighborhood" pilot program, the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality is creating a 14,000 m² ecological park in the Döşemealtı district.
ANTALYA – The face of Yeşilbayır is changing under the vision of the City of Antalya. In coordination with the Cittaslow Network, the Municipality is currently constructing a new public park designed to serve as the heart of the "Slow Neighborhood" (Sakin Mahalle) pilot area in the Döşemealtı district.
Spanning approximately 14,000 square meters, this new project is being developed in strict accordance with Cittaslow Metropolis criteria. The City of Antalya aims not only to provide green space but to create a hub that reflects the local identity and cultural richness of the region.
Fostering Socialization and Culture The park is designed to be a living space for the community. Key features include an open-air exhibition area to showcase local art and culture, as well as a Women's Coffeehouse (Kadınlar Kahvesi). This facility is intended to provide a dedicated social space for women, aligning with the goal of fostering social cohesion and inclusion.
Commitment to Ecology In line with the Cittaslow environmental philosophy, the City of Antalya has paid great attention to the park’s infrastructure. The urban furniture and recreational equipment have been selected to be fully ecological and environmentally compatible, ensuring the park exists in harmony with its natural surroundings.
Status Landscaping works are currently in the final stages. The administration aims to open the park to residents and visitors in the very near future, marking a significant milestone in the adoption of Cittaslow principles in the metropolitan area.
