“Nolluwa (local cooperative in cittaslow Hadong, KR)” is a winner of the Grand Prize in the Social Participation
In Cittaslow Hadong, “Nolluwa”, Cittaslow Hadong residents cooperative was selected as the winner of the Grand Prize in the Social Participation category of the 5th Healthy Aging Prize for Asian Innovation, that has been jointly organized by the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE) and the Economic Research Institute for Asean and East Asia (ERIA).
The Nolluwa was awarded in recognition of its consistent efforts and contributions to sustainable community revitalization and regional economic development by carrying out culture, education, and tourism projects with local residents, connecting the region, people, villages, and local content to build a sustainable community. We hope that this Nolluwa’s sustainable community model will serve as a valuable case for other regions in our society, which is facing low birth rates, an aging population, population decline, and the crisis of regional extinction.
'This Nolluwa is led by CEO Moonhwan Cho, and he is the one of expert committeeman at the Cittaslow Corea Network. Also, he was a public servant in Hadong county, after retirement, he has established cooperative and performed activities for local community and revitalization.
