Discover the Spring 2026 Edition of "Citta-Chat": The Latest News from Cittaslow Goolwa

We are delighted to present the latest edition of the Cittaslow Goolwa (Australia) newsletter for the Spring 2026 season.
New Community Garden Development: The creation of a new Community Garden is underway on Chrystal Street. This intergenerational space is designed to promote growing, learning, and social connections, in close collaboration with local schools and educational centers.
Commitment to the Environment: Goolwa's ecological dedication continues going strong. Volunteers are actively caring for the Birchall Road Reserve, working to restore the area's flora by planting thousands of native trees and plants.
Defending Local Identity (Anti-Fast Food Campaign): The community and local administration are joining forces to oppose a proposed McDonald's fast-food restaurant. The Alexandrina Council has passed an official resolution to oppose the establishment of large chain-based fast-food outlets in Goolwa, thereby defending the authenticity and core values of the Cittaslow movement.
Events, Food, and Community Life: The newsletter celebrates the return of the "At the Wharf" season, a popular riverside event series combining live music from local bands, street food trucks (including their famous paella), and regional wines. It also highlights the continued success of the Produce and Artisans Market, which remains an essential gathering point for the town.
We invite you to download and read the full "Citta-Chat-Spring-2026-FINAL.pdf" file to draw inspiration from how Goolwa lives and breathes the Cittaslow philosophy every day, proving that a slow, mindful, and participatory approach helps create an increasingly cohesive community.
