Get ready for a weekend of culture, history, and extraordinary flavors! From July 17th to July 19th, 2026, the charming village of Pellegrino Parmense (PR) will host the 39th edition of the "Fiera del Parmigiano Reggiano di Montagna."
This highly anticipated annual event celebrates the "King of Cheeses," specifically the high-quality mountain-produced variety, against the stunning backdrop of the Emilia-Romagna Apennines. Whether you are a foodie, a family looking for entertainment, or an enthusiast of local history, there is something for everyone.
A Weekend to Remember
The fair spans three days, each packed with unique experiences:
Friday, July 17th: The festivities kick off in the evening at the "Campo delle Feste," featuring the opening of the food stands managed by the local Pro Loco. Music lovers can look forward to a lively evening with Gaetano Nicosia, followed by a live performance from Me, Pek e Barba and a DJ set by Alessio Duranti.
Saturday, July 18th: The fair officially opens with markets and food stalls. Highlights include technical discussions on sustainable mountain farming, guided tours of the castle and the Careno Sanctuary, and the popular "Parmigiano Reggiano Five-a-Side Soccer Tournament." As evening falls, enjoy a cooking show by Marco Furmenti, a tribute to Giuseppe Verdi, and dance the night away to 70s/80s/90s music.
Sunday, July 19th: The final day is perfect for families and nature lovers. Enjoy guided heritage walks ("Erbe e Tradizioni"), horseback riding, falconry displays, and fun "traditional farmer games." The day concludes with the awards ceremony for the games and a final evening of dancing with the Giorgio Ikebana orchestra.
More Than Just a Fair
Throughout the event, attendees can enjoy the "C'era una volta Pellegrino Parmense" photography exhibition and treat themselves at the Gelateria Coppella, which will be present for the duration of the fair. Children will be kept entertained with dedicated shows, carousels, and creative workshops.
Pellegrino Parmense is ready to welcome visitors to celebrate the deep-rooted bond between the land, its people, and its most iconic product. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to experience the best of mountain tradition!
