Lidzbark culturally

The construction of the amphitheater is undoubtedly one of the largest investments located on the promenade in Lidzbark.  The investment started this year, and there are plans to use it within the same year. The new facility on the cultural map of Lidzbark is not only a stage, but also a covered auditorium that will allow people to participate in events even during rainy weather. It is worth adding that this investment is not limited only to the construction of the building itself, but also the infrastructure around the amphitheater. Its location will be an additional advantage of the facility. Construction works are currently underway.

On the boulevard over the Wel to the graduation towers

Another important point on the city map is the Boulevard on Działdowska Street. It stretches over the Wel River between the bridge at Działdowska Street, and the railway viaduct. It is a place to relax, enriched with a barbecue shelter, sandbox, a chess board  table, and bench-deckchairs. In April this year, brine graduation towers were opened. This is the first facility of this type in Lidzbark, implemented as part of the Civic Budget 2018. The main purpose of the construction of the graduation tower was to conduct preventive healthcare among the inhabitants of the City and Commune of Lidzbark. The air around the graduation tower will bring relief to residents and tourists struggling with thyroid diseases or chronic inflammation of the respiratory system. Thanks to the implementation of the graduation towers on the Boulevard, a new place for meetings and integration of residents was created. The Lidzbark graduation towers will also improve the well-being and health of people living in our region.

Discover two Cittaslow places in Lidzbark

Cittaslow Cafe in Lidzbark is the first and only such cafe in the Cittaslow City Network. It was established in 2021 in the Sports and Recreation Park at Małe Jeziorko (Small Lake)  in Lidzbark. The cafe is also an information point where visitors to Libark can get information about the region, services, bike routes, as well as obtain a map package, brochure and leaflets. The Cittaslow square is located in the second part of Lidzbark. It is a place located at Piaski and Działdowska Street. By spending time there, you can find out or learn more about the idea of "good quality of life" towns. Wooden snails beautify the urban space, reminding us of Lidzbark joining the Cittaslow chain. When visiting the Café and the Cittaslow Square - residents and tourists can attend the comprehensive offer of our City. These are the places that serve few functions: the integration of residents with tourists, and being a great place for relaxation are only few of them. Both the Cafe and the Square trigger neighborly energy and create a great meeting place. Thanks to these places, visitors to Lidzbark can take part in interesting activities. The specificity of these places meets the needs of the local community. Both facilities were created at the request of the residents, who reported the need to prepare places where people could cultivate neighborly acquaintances.

Sports Lidzbark

At the Lidzbark marketplace, in its recreational part, a pumptrack and a skate park have been created, which will also be used by skateboarders, as well as people riding scooters or roller skates. The newly created pumptrack has an area of 249 m2, which gives a track 113 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. Pumptrack is a special track where we can pick up speed and ride in circles without pedaling. For this purpose, we use the pumping technique. Pumptrack also has turns… a lot of them.

Take a walk along the Lidzbark Promenade

Lovers of walks will love the promenade along the shore of Lake Lidzbark. The promenade in Lidzbark is the perfect place for afternoon Sunday walks. It runs from Małe Jeziorko (Small Lake)  all the way to the City Beach. The hardened surface allows for comfortable walking, even with prams. Along the promenade there are wooden sculptures made by Masurian artists. Walking along the promenade, we can admire the Lidzbark Lake and the surrounding nature.

Rest on the beach

One of the main attractions in Lidzbark is the city beach modernized with the help of European Union funds. This is where you can find the bathing piers, consisting of 3 enclosed pools. Two of them in the shallower part of the pier are intended for children and adolescents, another swimming pool is intended for adults with a depth of 2.5 m, dim. 17.7 × 50.1 m and a jumping tower: lower level 2.25 m, higher level 3.96 m. Another attraction is the longest open-air water slide in the voivodeship, situated on the shore of Lake Lidzbark. A hangar for canoeists and water rescuers was also built. It is worth noting that the city beach in Lidzbark offers water equipment rentals (electric boats, pedal boats and canoes), 2 beach volleyball courts, gastronomy and a car park with 120 parking spaces to its residents and guests. At the city beach in Lidzbark, the youngest can also take advantage of the rope park and the playground in the shape of a pirate ship. Last year's novelty on the city beach is an inflatable water park and viewing terraces. A promenade leads from the beach on the right bank of the Lidzbark Lake, which ends in the sports and recreation park. There you can relax a bit, and use the playground for children.

Lidzbark on bike

Cycling enthusiasts will find a professional Weltrack path in Lidzbark - a singletrack with a length of 8,480 m, which is the first and longest bicycle route in northern Poland, and which runs around Lake Lidzbark and through the Klonowo nature reserve. It is a narrow lane for mountain biking, approximately the width of a bicycle. In addition to the Weltrack, in our commune we have over 50 km of marked paths, as well as kilometers of unmarked and extremely charming forest paths that can be easily explored by bike.
