Main Slow Event
"We hold the Safran Festival in October, the harvest season of saffron, which is known as the "miracle plant" and is grown in Safranbolu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a member of the Cittaslow (Slow City) network, famous for its historical houses. Saffron, which gives Safranbolu its name, is planted in August and blooms with fragrant purple flowers reaching a height of 15-30 centimeters in October and November. It is widely used in various industries such as dyeing, cooking, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food. The festival features a variety of events, including exhibitions, saffron-themed panels, documentary film screenings, a saffron-based cooking competition, nature walks, and concerts."
