A land of typical products of the highest quality from Parmigiano Reggiano, the flagship product of the local agri-food sector, to the characteristic “Fiorettino” salami with hand-cut lard, to the mountain erbazzone with rice, Castelnovo ne' Monti is home to the only Slow Food Condotta in the Apennines of Reggio Emilia, and has embraced the philosophy of CittaSlow, the International Network of Good Living Cities, for some years now, embarking on a path to enhance its territory and products. The Administration is also committed to offering new technologies for urban quality and the environment: there are active intervention plans to restore the original conditions of historic centers and works of cultural and historical value, there is a strong awareness of organic architecture, and in the use of the civic-telematics network.
