"Slow" Projects and Characteristics of the Municipality of Caiazzo

Environmental Protection and Energy: A "door-to-door" waste sorting and collection service is in operation, eliminating the need for roadside bins and thereby improving the landscape and environmental quality. Two municipal wastewater treatment plants are managed by specialized firms. Furthermore, the Municipality has adopted a plan for photovoltaic energy production (renewable sources) and has an acoustic zoning plan integrated into its master plan. The administration actively promotes both domestic and industrial composting.

Agriculture, Local Products, and Taste Education: Local agritourism businesses dedicated to creating Slow Food "Presidia" (initiatives protecting traditional food products) are being formally recognized; the primary goal is to safeguard traditional species or production methods at risk of extinction.

Urban Quality and Resilience: A dedicated commission for place-naming and road signage has been established; its duties include protecting and revitalizing the landscape features and valuable characteristics that define the area.

Slow Tourism and Hospitality: Specific "slow" tourism itineraries (supported by both web and print materials) are currently being planned, and there is a project to integrate the functions of the standard Public Relations Office (URP) with front-office activities dedicated to the Cittaslow network.
