COMPETITION “NICOLAUS COPERNICUS AND HIS DISCOVERIES”
1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1. The aim of the competition is to commemorate the 550th Anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, which falls in 2023, and to promote the achievements of the Great Astronomer around the world;
1.2. Competition is organized by:
- Cittaslow International;
- Polish Cittaslow Network;
- Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodship - "supporting member" of the Cittaslow International.
1.3. It’s an International, one-stage competition.
1.4. Participation in the competition is voluntary and free of charge.
1.5. The work must be done using digital technique, e.g.: film, graphics, animation, presentation.
1.6. The topics of the works should be related to the discoveries, work and life of Nicolaus Copernicus.
1.7. The competition works must be prepared in English or/and Italian.
2. COMPETITION SCHEDULE
2.1. Works must be prepared and submit by 30.04.2023 r. on e-mail: info@cittaslow.net;
2.2. The competition will be concluded by 23.06.2023 r.
2.3. Jury appointed by Cittaslow International will evaluate the competition works. The Jury will include at least one representative of each of the Organizers.
2.4. The official announcement of the winners of the competition along with the presentation of the awarded works will take place during General Assembly of the Cittaslow International in Polesine Zibello/Parma (Italy) on 24.06.2023.
3. CONTESTANTS
3.1. The competition is aimed at participants divided into two age groups:
a) 8 -12 years old;
b) 13-17 years old.
3.2. By participating in this Competition, the Participant accepts the content of these Regulations and undertakes to apply its provisions.
3.3. Works infringing the rights of third parties or applicable law will not be considered in the Competition.
3.4. All costs related to participation in the Competition and the performance of the work are paid by the Participant.
3.5. Contestants agree to publish their name and surname on the website and in social media of the Organizers.
4. PRIZES
4.1. Competition prizes are as follows:
a) For taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in both age groups - reward in the form of a telescope to observe the sky.
b) Organizers may award additional distinctions in the form of material prizes in the competition.
4.2. Winners will be informed about the award or distinction via e-mail or telephone.
5. FINAL PROVISIONS
5.1. The Regulations and additional information about the Competition are available on the website:www.cittaslow.org, www.cittaslowpolska.pl;
5.2. The organizers reserve the right to change the content of the Regulations, including the competition schedule.
5.3. The participation form is attached as Annex 1 in the Regulations.
5.4. Copyright are regulated by Annex 2 to these Regulations.
5.5. The declaration of parents/guardians of their consent to the participation of a minor is attached as Annex 3 to the Regulations.
