CITTASLOW SUNDAY IN MIRANDE

For the traditional Cittaslow Sunday, the association Mirande Cittaslow proposed this year a nature walk through the city. A guide from the Permanent Centre for Environmental Initiatives guided the walk talking to citizens and visitors about the fauna and flora that hide in the towns.

The various varieties of pigeons and doves residing around the church, the peculiarities of the magnificent historic oak, "Tree of Liberty" planted around 1860, the varieties of trees and plants along the ancient fortifications embellished the route. The walk ended around Mirande lake where everyone could see the elegant dragonflies and the most colorful butterflies. The well-documented guide made the group aware of the local biodiversity. Everyone left conquered by this very special visit.
