AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR VICE-PRESIDENT ARNOUD RODENBURG TO COLLEAGUES ABOUT THE WORLDWIDE COVID-19 CHALLENGE

Dear friends, colleague Mayors.

At the very beginning of this year we all wished each other a happy and healthy new year. Three months later and our health occupies our thoughts every minute of the day. Not only do we realize, now more than ever, that quality is of life is a very precious good but also that it is very vulnerable. I wish all my colleague mayors in our Cittaslow international network lots of courage, strength, and perseverance. For the task that is set before us, is not easy. To the 250 mayors in 30 countries of the world. You and I have a huge responsibility to manage this crisis. To encourage our people to help the people who need help. To comfort our people with economic and social worries. To lend a shoulder to our people who loose their relatives or friends. Let us share that responsibility with all the citizens in the Cittaslow community. Together we can fight the corona virus. Together we are stronger.

Together let us remember these words: ‘When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high and have faith in these words: You’ ll never walk alone...’
