COMMUNITY SUPPORT IS ORGANIZED FOR ALL CITIZENS IN CHAUDFONTAINE!
During the particularly complicated confinement period for the most vulnerable people, a tremendous outpouring of generosity and solidarity has been developed and strengthened every day thanks to the various actors and services who are working without counting their efforts on the territory of our commune, in compliance with the health measures recommended by the National Security Council.
SOCIAL ACTION BY THE COMMUNITY SOCIAL SERVICES AND THE "CPAS"
Social and telephone services were maintained 5 days a week.
About 50 people who were isolated "at risk", elderly or disabled, were called 2 to 3 times a week by social services, to check on them and/or their need for help.
A social emergency number has been activated since the beginning of the crisis, accessible 7 days a week, from 08:00 to 17:00.
MEALS AT HOME, FAMILY WORKERS AT HOME AND SHOPPING FOR LONELY PERSONS
The Assistance to Families and Elders Service «CALIDIPÔLES» had to face, during this period of confinement, to the increase of about forty beneficiaries of home meals and provided a free service of basic necessities for about twenty people at risk or unable to move. The most isolated people were thus supported at home with the greatest attention.
SUPPORT FOR SENIORS ALSO ORGANIZED WITH THE "RÉGIE DES QUARTIERS CHAUDFONTAINE-VAUX"
Despite the temporary cessation of the non-profit organization’s practical activities, intergenerational initiatives were implemented by the Régie des Quartiers.
Thanks to the initiative of young Valcaprimontois and the support of the company Galler, specific actions were carried out in favor of the Rest Houses of the municipality (making of snacks, delivery of pralines...).
SENIOR SPORTS
The Covid 19 crisis has resulted in the suspension of all communal activities for seniors, including weekly sports classes for 300 motivated seniors!
To enable this audience to stay active and fit during the confinement, the Regents in Physical Education responsible for the classes, have put online some video clips of exercises simple to do at home on the Facebook page «Les rendez-vous des seniors de Chaudfontaine».
DISTRIBUTION OF PROTECTIVE MASKS TO RESIDENTS OF NURSING HOMES
After the confinement, two masks were distributed by social services to the 680 residents of the 7 rest homes located on the local territory.
FOOD AID THANKS TO SAINT-VINCENT DE PAUL
Despite the crisis, with the participation of CPAS, the team of volunteers continued its action, without interruption, to allow the 80 families helped to continue to benefit from weekly food parcels.
Everything has been designed so that the distribution of different parcels takes place in the best conditions for the health of all, following the protocol of the Federation of Food Aid.
In addition, a home delivery service has been set up to help people at risk and/or unable to move.
OPEN ENVIRONMENT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Open action was also maintained by the recent AMO Re'Source non-profit, the Nova MJ youth centre and the Social Cohesion Plan. Together, they ensured a presence on the street to raise awareness among young people about the consequences of confinement and provided listening and support during this particularly anxious time for children and adolescents.
SUPPORT FROM THE KING BAUDOUIN FOUNDATION
The exceptional financial support provided by the King Baudouin Foundation to the "Service d'aide aux familles et aux aînés (CALIDIPÔLES)" and the Saint-Vincent de Paul Association to address the health crisis is noteworthy.
LA PLATEFORME D'ENTRAIDE CHAUDFONTAINE SOLIDAIRE
In order to enable every Calidifontain citizen to take part in a process of mutual aid and volunteering and thus help people who are lonely and/or vulnerable, the platform of mutual assistance “Chaudfontaine Solidaire” https://www.impactdays.be/chaudfontainesolidaire/a was put online.
Thus, anyone wishing to give their time could register by choosing an action to perform. Once the action was chosen, the person was asked to record various information enabling him to be put in contact with a person requesting help.
The Social Cohesion Plan department handled all requests in a strictly confidential manner. Each request was analyzed on a case-by-case basis.
Numerous impulses of solidarity have helped the most vulnerable citizens, whether to walk a dog, carry mail to the bank, go to the pharmacy or buy masks in fabric made by the forty volunteer seamstresses!
DISTRIBUTION OF FABRIC MASKS TO RESIDENTS
In collaboration with the non-profit association «Liège Métropole», two fabric masks were offered to all the inhabitants of the Commune.
The municipal services and the CPAS, as well as the service of alternative penalties «La Noria» took charge of the promotion campaign, the organization of transport, the packaging and the organization of the distribution of masks.
An “all-box” distribution tour was organized for seniors aged 60 and over.
Calidifonians aged 6 to 60 years were invited to remove their masks in the different withdrawal points provided in the neighborhoods.

Actions de solidarités à Chaudfontaine – Covid 19
Durant la période de confinement particulièrement compliquée pour les personnes les plus fragilisées, un formidable élan de générosité et de solidarité s'est développé et s'est renforcé chaque jour grâce aux différents acteurs et services déployant sans compter leurs efforts sur le territoire de notre commune et ce, dans le respect des mesures sanitaires préconisées par le Conseil national de sécurité.
L’ACTION SOCIALE DES SERVICES SOCIAUX COMMUNAUX ET DU CPAS
Les permanences sociales et téléphoniques ont été maintenues à raison de 5 jours par semaine.
Une cinquantaine de personnes isolées « à risques », âgées ou en situation de handicap, ont été appelées 2 à 3 fois par semaine par les services sociaux, pour prendre de leurs nouvelles et/ou vérifier leur besoin d'aide.
Un numéro d’urgence sociale a été activé depuis le début de la crise, accessible 7 jours sur 7, de 8h00 à 17h00 au 04/361.55.75.
REPAS A DOMICILE, AIDES FAMILIALES AU DOMICILE DES PLUS ISOLES ET COURSES pris en charge par CALIDIPÔLES
Le service d'Aide aux Familles et aux Aînés « CALIDIPÔLES » a du faire face, durant cette période de confinement, à l’augmentation d'une quarantaine de bénéficiaires de repas à domicile et a assuré un service gratuit de courses de première nécessité pour une vingtaine de personnes à risque ou dans l’incapacité de se déplacer. Les personnes les plus isolées ont ainsi été soutenues à domicile avec la plus grande attention.
LE SOUTIEN AUX AINES organisé aussi avec la RÉGIE DES QUARTIERS CHAUDFONTAINE-VAUX
Malgré l’arrêt temporaire des activités pratiques de l’asbl, des initiatives ponctuelles et intergénérationnelles ont été mises en oeuvre par la Régie des Quartiers.
Grâce entre autres à l’initiative de jeunes Valcaprimontois et au soutien de l’entreprise Galler, des actions spécifiques ont été menées en faveur des Maisons de Repos de la commune (confection de goûters, livraison de ballotins de pralines...).
SPORTS SENIORS
La crise Covid 19 a entraîné la suspension de toutes les activités communales destinées aux seniors et notamment les cours de sport organisés chaque semaine pour 300 aînés motivés !
Pour permettre à ce public de rester actif et en forme durant le confinement, les Régents en Education physique chargés des cours, ont mis en ligne quelques capsules vidéo d'exercices tout simples à faire chez soi sur la page Facebook « Les rendez-vous des seniors de Chaudfontaine ».
LA DISTRIBUTION DE MASQUES de protection AUX RESIDENTS DES MAISONS DE REPOS
Au sortir du confinement, deux masques en tissu ont été distribués par les services sociaux aux 680 résidents des 7 maisons de repos situées sur le territoire local.
L’AIDE ALIMENTAIRE grâce à SAINT-VINCENT DE PAUL
Malgré la crise, avec la participation du CPAS, l’équipe des bénévoles a maintenu son action et ce, sans interruption, pour permettre aux 80 familles aidées de continuer à bénéficier des colis alimentaires hebdomadaires.
Tout a été pensé de manière à ce que la distribution de différents colis se passe dans les meilleures conditions pour la santé de tous, suivant le protocole de la Fédération de l’Aide alimentaire.
De plus, un service de livraison à domicile a été mis en place afin de pouvoir dépanner les personnes à risques et/ou dans l’incapacité de se déplacer.
L’ACTION EN MILIEU OUVERT POUR LES JEUNES
L’action en milieu ouvert a également été maintenue par la toute récente AMO Re’Source asbl, la maison des jeunes Nova MJ et le Plan de Cohésion Sociale. Ensemble, ils ont assuré une présence dans la rue afin de sensibiliser les jeunes sur les conséquences du regroupement en période de confinement et ont apporté écoute et soutien durant cette période particulièrement anxiogène pour les enfants et adolescents.
SOUTIEN DE LA FONDATION ROI BAUDOUIN
Il faut souligner le soutien financier exceptionnel apporté par la Fondation Roi Baudouin au Service d’aide aux familles et aux aînés (CALIDIPÔLES) et à l’association Saint-Vincent de Paul pour faire face à la crise sanitaire.
LA PLATEFORME D’ENTRAIDE CHAUDFONTAINE SOLIDAIRE
Afin de permettre à tout citoyen calidifontain de s’inscrire dans une démarche d’entraide et de bénévolat et ainsi aider les personnes seules et/ou fragilisées, la plateforme d’entraide « Chaudfontaine Solidaire » https://www.impactdays.be/chaudfontainesolidaire/a été mise en ligne.
Ainsi, toute personne souhaitant donner de son temps pouvait s’inscrire en choisissant une action à effectuer. Une fois l’action choisie, la personne était invitée à enregistrer diverses informations lui permettant d’être mise en contact avec une personne demandeuse d’aide.
Le service du Plan de Cohésion sociale a traité toutes les demandes de manière strictement confidentielle. Chaque demande a été analysée au cas par cas.
De nombreux élans de solidarité ont permis d’aider les concitoyens les plus vulnérables, que ce soit pour promener un chien, porter du courrier à la banque, aller à la pharmacie ou procurer des masques en tissu confectionnés par les quarante couturières bénévoles !
DISTRIBUTION DE MASQUES EN TISSU AUX HABITANTS
En collaboration avec l’asbl « Liège Métropole », deux masques en tissu ont été offerts à tous les habitants de la Commune.
Les services communaux et du CPAS, ainsi que le service des peines alternatives « La Noria » ont pris en charge la campagne de promotion, l’organisation des transports, le packaging et l’organisation de la distribution des masques.
Une tournée de distribution « toutes-boîtes » a été organisée pour les seniors de 60 ans et + .
Les calidifontains de 6 à 60 ans ont été invités à retirer leurs masques dans les différents points de retrait prévus dans les quartiers.
