Cittaslow Sunday Midden-Delfland

Main theme: storytelling about culture and history, knowledge about food and guided tours on foot and with boats.
A program takes place around de Levende Buitenplaats and the visitor center. A program is drawn about hospitality, experiencing landscape, regional produkts, regional storys, culture and history and attention for maintaining the identity of Midden-Delfland.
The program will be opened by mayor Arnoud Rodenburg of Midden-Delfland ad 11 o’ clock. Visitors will be able to participate at tours in the gardens, to join in a workshop about keeping bees, to listen to Anton van der Marcke who tells regional stories (like the story about ‘ The witch of Zouteveen’) and to enjoy the regional products. At about 11.30 a.m. and 14.00 p.m. guided walking tours can be made through Midden-Delfland. Maps of the tours are available. Of course a lot of information about the area can be given at the information center. At the stands of Natuurmonumenten and Midden-Delfland Vereniging information is presented.
Historian Jacques Moerman gives and introduction about the history of Op Hodenpijl and de Levende Buitenplaats at 13.30 p.m.. Throughout the day a boat is touring between Op Hodenpijl and the center of Schipluiden.
The finish of the program is at 16.30 p.m..
