Green Day

Aylsham

To introduce ways to be eco-friendly to local residents.

The historic market town of Aylsham in Norfolk, England will stage its first Green Day on Cittaslow Sunday.
Organised by Aylsham Climate Emergency, the event will be opened by local author Patrick Barkham, president of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
There will be music, street food and activities for children, and environmental groups and businesses will explain how we can all help to clean up the planet.
ACE was formed after Aylsham Town Council declared a climate emergency in 2021 to make the town carbon neutral by 2030.
There will be a pledge tree where visitors can make their own promises about how they will reduce, reuse, repair and recycle. Also, a map of cycle routes around Aylsham; a key to where anything from bras to used water filters can be dropped off for recycling; and litter-picking projects.

With increasing public anxiety about rocketing energy bills, ACE has bought a thermal imaging camera which shows householders how to make houses more energy efficient.
