Securing the Benefits of Satellite Services for European Society

The potential of satellite information and services to deliver benefits to society is well recognised.  However, more should be done to ensure society fully reaps the results of investments in satcom infrastructure and in the GMES and Galileo programmes.

The conference will provide an opportunity to debate specific support measures for end-user communities, notably the provision of direct funding to them to implement and use satellite services, via established financing mechanisms which are familiar to them (INTERREG and others).

Representatives from the end-user associations and interest groups (local and regional authorities and non-space SMEs) and service provider associations will join a dialogue with European decision-makers, legislators and the space community.
