JEONJU (COR): 3RD JEONJU RESIDENTS’ BEST PRACTICES CONTEST

The 3rd Jeonju Resident Best Practices Contest was held in the city of Cittaslow Jeonju on the 1st of October 2019, and it aims to motivate residents to get involved in Cittaslow-related activities through sharing ideas and practices.

SeungSu Kim, a mayor of Cittaslow Jeonju gave an encouragement speech, and Pier Giorgio Oliveti, a secretary general of Cittaslow International HQ gave a congratulatory speech. 

Seven of 16 member towns in Corea engaged in the contest and over 110 residents from member towns over the nation attended the event. The seven contests made a presentation of their best practices related to Cittaslow and a jury was composed of Myung-hwan Cho, a professor emeritus of Dong-A University, In-su Choi, a researcher of the Korea Research Institute for Local Administration, and Mung-hwan Cho, a poet and former head of the town of Akyang in Cittaslow Hadong.

CITTASLOW GIMHAE won the grand prize for their efforts to protect nature for children,

CITTASLOW SEOCHEON won the excellence prize for the promotion of a slow lifestyle in daily lives

 

CITTASLOW HADONG won the encouragement prize for their efforts to improve the quality of life and make residents live a happier life.
